They have sent a renewal notice to me. I guess I signed up with them at sometime, but I've never used their services. I'm wondering whether I should sign up.
I would appreciate any thoughts in this regard.

Hi jimkate,
It all depends on if you will use the membership. I'm a lifetime member of PA. That does not mean it is right for you. Look at the camping you'll do in 2012. Compare it to the PA directory or web site. If you can use the membership it will save $s.

It's not the silver bullet, but is the best money we ever spent. We have recouped our investment several times over.
Check their website first to see where you go vs where they are.

I will be spending a week in the Florida Keys in July and I will save at least $250. Membership costs $44. Not a bad investment.

Normally, if you stay one or two nights a year in a Passport CG, it's paid for itself.

We have thousand trails and RPI........we're out 3 to 4 months a year, and find TT and RPI leaves us in need of a campground that they don't have coverage. PA has been a great fill in for those times when we are in need of a campground to facilitate our trip.....good value.

I've used it for 4 years now and have saved more than enough to cover the cost each & every year. You just have to pick times & campgrounds to fit your needs.
Safe travels...

Passport America is a very good deal IF you use it. We use it regularly and try to plan trips using PA as much as possible. We have saved way more on campground costs using PA than the cost of the membership. The key is you have to use it for it to be a good deal.

Not trying to hi- jack, thought I might be able to get some help here,
I tried to sign up yesterday, got all the way through made my payment got my ID # and all that. Tried to log in and setup my email but says my account cannot be found. Tried to look up my ID# to make sure I had it right and it tells me I'm not in the system. Emailed PA to see if they could help, no response.
Any suggestions?

Were you a Camp Club USA member? CC and PA merged and you may have gotten a renewal notice under the PA banner. This happened to us and we called and PA is now going to issue another card with the remaining membership dates combined. PA is well worth the cost...even with the availability game one must play. Use PPA and find it well worth while overall. My only gripe is they don't police their participating parks well. We find parks abusing PP rules. For example, extra charge for elect for PPA members. PP admin fee. It's supposed to be 50% of normal rate, right ? Have emailed PPA. No responce. Some parks are not very attractive and some in poor areas. We optioned for a nearby private park in Las Cruses, NM this Spring after looking at the PPA offering.
