Patching an awning with Tenacious tape

My awning fabric had some slits and some dime sized holes in it. Rather than replace the fabric I used clear Tenacious tape gear aid to patch them up.

I had used this tape a lot for field repairs of backpacking/mountaineering gear.

Make sure to curve the edges of each patch so it will not come off.

I have patches on for a year that are still holding up.

There is a number of tapes that hold well, the issue is, is the tape UV resistant. One I can say to never use is clear duck tape, it fails rather quickly exposed to sunlight. I have always used awning repair tape since. Taped one awning together(both sides of the split) with it and it was still intact 8 years later

Sounds like great tape! The website is odd, they say "you’ll never go back to that gooey, sticky, silver stuff'(which it is) then sell duct tape__.

Just finished patching the rest if the holes.

The awning does not leak at all now :-) I did apply a waterproofing conditioner.

Nice!
Tip: when you take a pic with your phone, turn it horizontal with the camera to the left. This way when you upload or attach we will see it in the correct orientation.

You can get it here too on Amazon and just add it to your cart to the rest of your items for the next time you place an order:

That's where I get it also.

I just patched our guest air mattress this morning with it.
