I have seen large metal plate theat are attached to the original plates on jacks. I would think the plus side is not having to try and place a jack pad under the coachand then pulling it later. Any downside? Added weight on the jack? etc. Who makes them?

I haven't seen any aftermarket direct attach pads, probably because each brand of jack requires a different attachment method. Jacks from Power Gear, Equalizer and Bigfoot come standard with large metal foot pads, so it is mostly HWH brand jacks that need help.

If you add a heavier plate to existing foot plate on HWH the springs may not be able to hold added weight on piviot point of jack.
