Always figured washing a vehicle inside just puts too much moisture in a building. So never do it. If I were to build a garage for that I would pour a 6" wall around the floor to set the walls on.

I tied mine into my sewer

I just stubbed mine to the down slope side and let it run out on the ground.

I did similar and added a trap to help keep critters form getting in.

Finally got moved in to my garage. Didn't think about the garage doors being mounted on the inside making the fit kind of tight.

I did the same too. Concrete man charged $75 extra to run the drain out the back/low side.

I had in my plan a 6x12 center drain with a 4 inch pipe running to the open ground. This is acceptable in Va according to the builder. If it was a sink drain it would have to go directly to the septic.

Turns out I will be building without the cement floor and drain until I can come up with the 15k for the floor. I chose to do the building with insulation on the walls and ceiling, as well as other items that could not be added later to maintain the aesthetics.

My excavator should start turning dirt next week, I increased the pad size that will allow 40 feet in front of the building for parking in front of either door. This brought the cost up a bit on the stone but I believe it will be worth it.
Water will eventually be brought in before the cement as well. I will post pictures as progress is made. Turns out pulling permits and ordering the building may push construction of the building as late as December. I am hoping I beat the snow!

We are close to signing a contract to have a new home built in a neighborhood that allows for a home with attached rv garage..
We were thinking of a slight downsizing anyway and have been looking properties with space to build a barn. I sometimes think this is an unwise move from a resale perspective. Will the attached large garage be a negative. This is in a small town just outside the Indianapolis area.. The home will be very close to this floor plan. What do you guys think. Would you do it if timing and opportunity were right?

Good layout. My thought would be that a separate garage for RV be easier resale ??

Nice layout. If it works for you, do it. In spite of naysayers, I have never considered resale when buying vehicles or homes. I buy for my needs/desires, and if/when I decide to sell someone like me comes along and buys it.

Thanks AFChap, we have over the years behaved the same way. One of our homes was 50 miles south of Indy, in a not so great little town. But we were in our boating phase and the home was on a spectacular lake.. We could never afford that closer to the big city. 7 years later after making many memories it was time to sell. Boy were we worried. The septic system was in total failure and the only approved remedy was to make another one on the side of the property. In three months we had little interest until a couple showed up where the husband could only see the lake. He cared about nothing else. We found our buyers.

I've never had anybody come by the house and be "turned off" by the big storage building at the house. Go for it!
