We were thinking of a slight downsizing anyway and have been looking properties with space to build a barn. I sometimes think this is an unwise move from a resale perspective. Will the attached large garage be a negative. This is in a small town just outside the Indianapolis area.. The home will be very close to this floor plan. What do you guys think. Would you do it if timing and opportunity were right?

Rkh ... My only comment would be to make the RV garage maybe 50' deep so someone with a 45' coach could fit. Maybe extend the front wall to match the 2-car garage.

As my neighbor said when I asked him about his garage when I was thinking of building ours "You can never build a shed too big!" I doubled his size and will advise anyone who asks "You can never build a shed too big!"

Ours is filled to the brim. I wish I would have built it 10' longer and 4' wider.

Kinda like a work bench. No matter how big it is, if you're busy, you'll still be working in a little 18" circle....

I like the plan, but I would put a window in the wall of the master bedroom that adjoins the RV garage, so that when I wake up in the morning I could look out at my baby!

What a great layout!! How many square feet is it? I'm going to be looking at building something in a few years and I'd also like an RV garage.

It's always nice to see pictures of a build in progress.

Pictures of MH garages

Here is our upcoming project. Plan on starting in the next few weeks. "Safe Room" is for Hurricanes. We live 3 miles from the coast. RV section of garage is 18'x42'. Ceiling is 15'6". Garage doors are 12' wide and 14' high.

Safe room? Good thinking. Safe rooms should be standard. They might save your life someday. Glad to see you are thinking ahead. Be sure it stays available if needed.
