I usually use cash now days at the J, however the practice of charging more for use of plastic is because the store is charged for using the plastic, so they pass it on,, IN some states this is not allowed (So everyone pays more or at least was not allowed but in many that has changed. So the banks charge you for the privileged of using the card and charge the store for the privileged of accepting the card. If you get the idea the banks are getting rich. Well, they are, and that is who you should be venting on

Um....no.
My credit union has never charged me a fee for anything, ever. But does pay cash back for CC use. And ALL of the stations I fill at take my debit card as cash; no extra charge; even if I cornered into going to P/FJ.
So, banks may get your money, but not mine! And I don't need to carry a cash stash.

To the OP: I guess I wonder about the original question. If it's just fuel charges that worry you then here's what I found. I used by gas buddy app to check out the 100 miles from here to Louisville for gas prices. P/FJ was running 2.15 and there were several Vallejo and other stations at 1.99. So 3 cents or 6 cents off isn't the question. It's where is the cheapest gas.

For me, knowing that i can pull through with 41'of DP, towing a Cherokee, is a given at a truck pump. Some RV pumps are impossible to negotiate with this combo. Towing a trailer makes it easier, since backing up is possible, but not when towing a vehicle.
To tell the truth, convenience trumps price for me.

Some folks have not seen the new, bigger stations. This one across the street from a FJ.
42 + toad. Easy-peasy, convenient and no need to back up. Give it a try! In this case, the price was $0.49 difference yesterday.

West Memphis AR.
You know what an FJ looks like. Truck fleets get rebates or discount contracts. We don't.
Here are the prices; 38 cents more at FJ. All are on I-40.
Here is google earth of the lower priced places.
Lots of ROOM!!!

There obviously was some sort of a glitch in processing your credit card. I'd be willing to bet if you had gone in and spoke with a manager it all would have been resolved to your satisfaction.

I agree with BobGed. I have used this card all over the country and been very happy with the results. At times, there have been some issues, but either dealing with the manager or a call to Pilot gets the results I expect.
