I have owned 2 motor homes equiped with Pioneer GPS systems and find that the system is unreliable. It is not accurate on intructions on how to get from one place to anouther. I have a GPS in my Mercedes and one in my Jeep- grand charokee and have had a Alpine gps in anouther motor home. All of which were acceptable in operation. Anybody have any comments?

Hmmm!

I've found that nearly all GPS systems use the same mapping system. I guess the accuracy depends on the quality of the "guts" of the system.

I did see this today:

"If you've picked up a TomTom Global Positioning System device over the past few months, you may have bought more than you bargained for. TomTom International confirmed on Monday that some of its latest Go 910 devices have shipped with a virus preinstalled.

The infected systems were all manufactured during a one-week period around October 2006, TomTom said in a statement posted to its Web site on Monday. The affected systems are running version 6.51 of the TomTom software."

I have had a Pioneer NC2 since August 05. I received the map updates in 4Q 06. The system is very realiable. Look at the map I have for my avatar. The Pioneer guided us through all our stops. It made one minor mistake when it had us exit an interstate one exit too early. Other than that it has been perfect. I have a GM installed GPS in the toad. It also works very well. I trust both systems.

Consider purchasing the newest maps. Maybe your luck will change.
