Placing reflectix insulation inside cabinets
Doing some research on reflectix and single pane windows brought me across folk lining cabinets with it, one person got a 10f difference before and after using digital thermometer.
I do have a good bit left over from doing my windows.
Has anyone tried this?

That reminds me that I've been wanting to test this myself. I've got some extra reflectix and a bank of cabinets that is on the sunny side of the RV. I'll go now put some in one of those cabinets to see what happens.
I'll be back later today to report what I find.

I copied that from 336muffin. I didn't put a meter to it however it felt cooler to the touch.

I used the Reflectix to line the back of all the cabinets against outside walls! I attached it with a staple gun!

Sounds like something I should do.
Do folks line the roof of cabinets?

Sounds like a good idea. I use Reflectix in the windows when it's real hot or real cold. I've achieved as much as a 30 degree difference in the summer between the internal and external temperature. I plan to buy some more this fall and do the skylights. If I have any left over, I will do the backs of the drawers and closets as well.

I bought two 4' x 25' rolls to do the windows on my class A, I say I have enough to do my cabinets.

Good call on using a staple gun.

in winter you will need to check behind it...as the cold side will be between the plastic reflectix and the wall, you may get lots of water build up.

3PM on a sunny day in Florida.
In my little experiment I'm not seeing any difference.
I have two upper cabinets on the same side of the coach about 18 inches apart.
In one of them I put reflectix on the back wall and top of the cabinet (side wall and ceiling of the coach).
Using and IR gun I'm not see any notable difference in the temps inside the cabinets, or the temp of the reflectix as compared to the wall and ceiling temps of the other cabinet.
I have doors and windows open in the coach, and do not have air conditioning running.
To ME that makes sense. I think the 'magic' in the reflectix is in it's reflecting light and heat properties, not as insulation. It makes a big difference when I put it in the windows, apparently less inside of a dark cabinet.
As always, YMMV.

Hi Podivin,
That's interesting, I do notice a difference using it on the windows, the big advantage to us it completely blacks out the coach for us, as we both like it that way when sleeping.
