Maybe this is a Ford vs Chevy thing. We have been full timers for almost 5 years now and use Angel Soft 2 ply. We have discovered for our particular rig's holding tank and pipe configuration that we cannot skimp on water. We have also discovered that the TP not labelled safe for septic systems does not work as well. We do not use any chemicals either. This is what works for us but "your mileage may vary".

I have found that if you process enough of it, it comes out almost clear.

A REAL MAN NEVER FORGETS WHERE HE LEFT HIS BEER! PERIOD.
He also never lets his beer dip below the water level when he falls off a boat, inner tube, boat dock, MH roof, etc, or when the basement door slams onto the top of his head when he stands up too soon(Damn, I hate when that happens).

We should ALL be thankful we aren't still living in the outhouse era in the middle of winter!
I remember my parents saying that they used to use the Sears-Robuck catalogue and have to crumple and roll each page to soften it. My mom used to tell me the operation started as soon as you sat down and by the time you were ready, the page was hopefully soft enough for use. If it wasn't, you spent more time out in the freezing outhouse till you got it just right.
Christmas was always a treat, as they used get a box of Mandarin oranges and saved the wrappers off them. They were already soft enough for the paperwork once your job was done!

Danny BonaDouche; Need I say more.
Great, another $19.95 product. Where is the "Call Now and we'll send you two for the same low price of $19.95, just pay extra S&H" line.

What was I thinking????? I hold my head in shame....
But wait, there's more!
Maybe, in these difficult and tumultuous times, someone could be generous and thoughtful enough this Holiday Season to send this poor, lame, beer deprived hack a beer pager. Lord knows, I need another remote to carry around.... As long as we're on my Santa's list, I'd especially like one of these:

We are Fulltimers and staying in Texas for the winter. We use Angel Soft and have used other brands that say Septic Safe. We also use 2 ply. We do use a product called unique which is an enzyme based product. It breaks down everything to a liquid. Don't dump until tanks is at least 3/4 full. We also use unique in the gray tanks to break up the grease and such. Works great.

We own a campground and have nine rental units with bathrooms and we have a motor home. We do not use chemicals in our personal unit and use a deodorizer in the rental units, but that is only for the peace of mind and possibly nose of those renting them. Lots of water is the key. We don't empty the rentals without filling the tanks first. Most complaints about smell are because for whatever reason they hold the valve open to see in the hole with the exhaust fan on drawing any odor up and out of the tank and right into their face......try explaining THAT to them.........
On another note, our health dept. recommended no chemicals. It will all break down on its own if left alone. And, chemicals containing formaldehyde are hazardous to the environment and there had been talk of charging septic tank pump outs as hazardous waste. We have our tanks pumped out three times a season....imagine what hazardous waste charges will do to the cost!
