On my 05 Fleetwood Terra I noticed this weekend that the Gear down light was no longer lighting. The levelors go up and down ok but the warning light (I forget if there was a alarm) was not lite. I have the Power Gear 4 point system.
Is there a seperate fuse for the wanring light? If so any ideas where it would be located?

Thanks

Mine do the opposite. The warning goes off all the time even though they are up.

I am not sure which is worse !!

Mine suddenly came on last night when I was headed down I10 at 70mph! It eventually went out.

I would think both ur cases are worse then mine. I didn't test the drive off warning being as I knew they were down. My concern is what if I forget.
The coming on for a little bit I understand is sometimes caused by low fluid, Abark1 and Don you may want check that. I think the LED has burnt out.

For those whose Power Gear "jacks down" light won't go out or goes off long after the jacks appear to be up, be sure the jack shafts are lubricated. There is a grease fitting (a "zerk") at the bottom of each cylinder where the jack shaft enters - give it a squirt with a grease gun. Also, with the jack shaft fully extended, wipe the jack shaft itself clean with a bit of hydraulic oil (e.g. transmission fluid) on a rag. This helps insure that the jacks will easily retract that last 1/4 inch or so and be fully "up" so the "jacks down" light will go off.

Some of the Power Gear cylinders don't have a grease zerk, only the larger ones. For the smaller ones, the Power Gear maintence manual says to spray the cylinders with Silicone before retracting them. Seems to work OK that way.

Ok, final update I hope. I finally got hold of powergear and it turns out to be the float valve is bad. Easy enough to check as it has two wires coming out of it, is located near the top of the fluid canister. With jacks down should be continuity between the two wire. Jacks up no continuity. They will be sending me a new one, and I don't have to take it to the dealer.
On the greasing with the zerk fittings, do u grease till it comes out?

I stop just before it comes out

Well, I try to anyway. I don't know how strong those jack seals are, so I try to be gentle. Stop at the first sign of grease pushing out or if I notice resistance.

I didn't find any grease zerks on my Power Gear cylinders. I did coat them with a light film of ATF.
Steve, is Power Gear sending you the replacement float valve at no cost? I'll check mine tomorrow.

I checked and I do have the zerk fittings, they are facing to the front.
Abaark yes they are sending the replacment at no cost to me. There tech support was very helpfull once I got through to them. You will have a long hold though.

My float valve checks OK with the resistance test.
I believe my problem is related to loose or coroded electrical ground points. I have yet to make it through the entire system of this 4 year old, used, rig I bought 6 months ago.

That could be. have you gotten hold of Power Gear? Remember they are on the east coast. Is it only your light that doesnt work? Have you tested the drive off feature?

I haven't bothered to locate the phone number.

Mine were working fine (except for the one false alarm last week at 70mph), but today after I extended only the front to level for a dump, after applying a coat of ATF, the Jacks Down light wouldn't extinguish and the drive off alarm sounded continuously. However they retract fully and much faster!
