Power Gear Levelers

Went to level the rig a little yesterday, and the rear levelers came down just fine, but the front ones made a growling sound and wouldn't move. Sent an enquiry to Power Gear, but it came back as not deliverable, most like a glitch in their website.
I was at a campground in Oklahoma two weeks ago and they worked fine. Any idea what to look for? Rig is getting ready to be stored for a while, so not in a big hurry. Had to come off the road after 2 yrs of full timing, due to some issues that can't be dealt with on the road. Look forward to hearing from anyone.

Sounds like you have the electric ones.
They have had a problem with water & rust/corrosion getting in them.

The hydro ones usually only make noise at the pump when going bad.
and would make noise front or back jacks going down.

As water/rust gets into the motor on them.

There is a long post on IRV2 about Power Gear levelers. It has a wealth of information on the brakes on the motors. About water intrusion, sealing them, changing brakes and much more. Do a search of power gear and you will find it. Good luck.

Based on the op's signature , I'm guessing they're not electric. FW used electric primarily in 07/08. I don't know what address you sent your inquiry to but info@powergearus.com always worked for me.
Please let us know more specifics about your system and if PG was able to assist.

First of all I do have the hydraulic levelers. Went out this morning and used the specialty tool called a #10 boot and pushed down on them and they started working, ran them down and up a couple of times. So when I get it to the storage area, going to deploy them and clean the piston and seal area and maybe give them a shot of dry silicone spray...Thanks for the help..

Also, check for a grease fitting at the bottom of each cylinder and give them several pumps of lightweight lithium grease.
