After thousands in diagnostic charges and "repair" costs, 12 mechanics and tons of headaches, the genius at Statkus Engine and Performance Centers in Albuquerque, Jim, diagnosed it with one drive. It wouldn't act up for him so he "kicked" the computer, literally, with his foot and the power died. He knew immediately what it was. A power chip that had been installed in the computer was faulty. A POWER CHIP!! O2 sensors, MAF replacements, fuel pump failure, all the things the other mechanics said it might be and it was a COMPUTER CHIP! He took it out, test drove it again and it's purring like a kitten - even shifting better than EVER. I'm SOOOOOOOO relieved! Now I feel confident enough to drive it ANYWHERE!!

A high low tech solution to a high tech problem. Glad it's fixed.

Interesting. Was it the Banks power chip, and did you have to replace it w/another one, or another brand ? Robbie SEMPER FI

SEMPER FI ROBBIE!! And Happy Marine Corps Birthday as well!

Jim, the owner of the shop, said that I didn't need a power chip and that he'd never put a power chip in a gas motorhome. It's running so well, I have to agree with him that it's not needed. WHAT A RELIEF!!

I remember reading somewhere that those chips were supposed to be taped down so they didn't come loose in the holder from vibration. GraciesMom, you must now fix your signature, you no longer have Banks Performance. LOL

Alan and Patty - ok, ok, . . . I still have Banks Exhaust though. And as far as Banks "performance" . . . I didn't see no stinking performance . . . best thing that happened was losing that chip!!!
