Can you please explain your comments with a bit more detail? Have you seen a notice that Doran is no longer going to be a distributer for Advantage PressurePro?

I've never really understood the relationship between Doran MFG, and Advantage PressurePro, the developer and distributor of the PressurePro system. I'm just guessing that Doran might have been their lead manufacturing supplier before PressurePro began partnering with Lectronix. Does anyone know more details?

The sensors screw on to the stem, and while they do stay on well, they could be easily removed. You never really hear much about theft being a problem, however. PressurePro does distribute "locking caps" that would make them harder to remove - but also would make it much harder to add air to your tires.

As for effecting balance, the sensors don't weigh enough to matter on a truck or motorhome tire. Not sure about a small toad, but I've not seen complaints about that.

As I understand Doran was a distributor, and was allowed to brand the pressure pro with their own name. I was told last summer that when the current aggrement expired, Doran would no longer be able to use their name on the pressure pro. I assume this is what is happening. As far as locking caps, just go to the hardware store and purchase nuts that fit the valve threads and jam lock the senders.

I have heard and the Doran distributor at the Quartzsite RV confirmed that Doran plans on coming out with their own system.
And as the other poster said PressurePro and Doran are splitting the blanket.

What you heard at QZ, Clay, would seem to make sense. A lot of people think that Doran MFG is actually the developer and owner of the PressurePro system. That can't be good for Advantage PressurePro's marketing efforts. But then, neither can a new competitor.

OK, I've been watching this thread for awhile and thought I would put in my 2 cents worth

I had heard [on another irv2 thread] about Doran bringing out there own system so when I saw on Tuesday at the Quartzsite RV Show that one of the Doran dealers had dropped his price by $200 I asked him about it. He confirmed that it was true, and that the systems were the new ones with the high pressure alarms also.
Bought one and installed it the next morning. Started home Thursday with a little rain, got to I-5 and found the Grapevine closed; detoured up 14 to Mojave and over Tehachapi through light snow. Stopped for lunch at a scenic view on 14 and it was nice to sit inside out of the rain and snow mixture and check tire pressure on the motorhome AND tow vehicle tires

Another happy customer- though I have no doubt that someone will come out with a better, cheaper system with more features now that we have bought this one

Hmmmm. DW keeps saying, 'give me a hint for a nice birthday present.'

So, if the only difference between the existing Pressure Pro and a new system is the ability to detect high pressure, is it worth waiting for??

The high pressure detect unit is out now. I have had mine since last fall. You have to be careful not to get old stock.

I purchased my pressure pro in October, 2007 and it had the high pressure warning sensors.

For me, I am satisfied with the old model. Then again, it all depends on the difference in price. A few bucks, go for the new. An arm and a leg, consider staying with the old.

Agree. Bill said the new gizmo will be available in March so may wait and assess the differences in features/price.

Has anyone tried this brand of TPMS... from their website, it appears that they have greater function and are significantly less costly.
