Usually the cameras go out before the monitor. Do you get any evidence the monitor screen shows anything? If so it is probably ok. Check connections at both ends of the cable connecting camera to monitor. On some of the models you could take the camera off and plug it straight into the monitor; by-passing the cable between them and eliminating a possible bad cable. If you have a friend or fellow camper willing to let you use their working camera for testing, it is the only sure way of knowing which is bad.

Does the power light come on? (either by putting it in reverse or hitting the standby/on button)
Does your camera have a microphone? Can you hear anything when it's on?
Did adjusting contrast/brightness make any difference?
Is the camera lens perhaps fogged up so badly you can't see anything?

Hi Herb. Seeing that this is a new MH , it may be possible the PO turned the brightness control all the way down. That would block out the screen.

RV Wizard, I get absolutely nothing on the monitor. Have checked connections at camera and at monitor, all seem to be okay. Cleaned camera lense. Checked the 3amp fuses under dash and in motor compartment, they were okay too. Just not getting any power to the system at all????

94 Newmar, the power light does not come on at all. not sure if unit has mic, if so it is silent. Contrast/brightness adjustments make no difference. Cleaned camera lense with Majuier plastic light lense cleaner? Stumped.

Clifftall, I checked brightness control, it was set right. I simply am not getting any power to the system. Checked connections, 3amp fuses, cleaned lense on camera. ???

Herb, check for 12 vdc + and - feeding the monitor. If you actually have good voltage feeding the monitor; the monitor is bad. If you find that you have a good ground but no hot you might want to locate a good hot line and temporarily tie it to the monitor for further diagnosing. You can always add an additional ground just to insure a complete path for the circuit. Let me know what you find out.

RV Wizard, Checked the power connections on monitor with ohm meter. Got 3 volts shown on meter but 0 ampres. Does this mean that monitor is bad?

QUOTE] Need to clarify earlier post. Ohm meter showed 12.6 volts at monitor. If this means that monitor is bad, can you replace just the monitor. It is a voyger vom-58. Thanks

Herb, you will need at least 12vdc feeding monitor before you can expect it to function. Recheck the actual positive and negative conductors at the monitor connection while the monitor is in the circuit. Try it with the monitor off and again when it is turned on. What voltage(s) do you have?
