Problem with Fantastic Fan...

I have a 2000 Discovery with two fantastic fans. The one in the kitchen doesn't work due to the lid raising arm being inoperable. I took the cover off and lifted the lid by hand and the fan works fine. My problem is: How do I replace the pin in the gear mechanism so that I can make the fan work as it's supposed to? Anybody ever have such a problem? I'm wondering if I can take the fan apart to be able to work on the innards? The only other solution is to buy a new fan.

Best bet is to call "fantastic fan". They have an awesome customer service dept. I had a problem on mine (7 yrs. old), and he diagnosed it, sent me all the parts and NO CHARGE!!! He said they like to take care of their customers. Look them up on the web then call the 800 line. Good luck.

Another vote for calling Fantastic Fan. They've probably got the best customer service in the industry.

Same here I needed the main plastic motor holder and fan blade. One phone call and the whole assembly (new motor, blade, and frame) was sent no charge, and the fan was 13 yrs old!

You couldn't ask for a better company to work with in regards to customer service. They are first class. Give them your problem and they'll take care ot it. Sure glad I have their product on our coach.

Thanks to everyone! I called Fantastic Vent and you were right...they took my information and said they were sending me the repair parts right away. I am still waiting but I am sure happy that you all put me on to this great company!
