Problem with lights on switches

Have a pump switch in my control panel that turns on the water pump when I need it. The light on that switch turns on when the switch is in the on position. I also have a water pump switch in the bathroom. The light on that switch also will go on when the switch in the control panel is in the on position. My problem is, when I first turn the pump switch on in the bathroom, the light on that switch comes on, but the light on the switch in the control panel for the pump doesn't come on. They use to. Do I have 1) a switch that needs to be replaced or 2) a wiring problem or 3) a bulb problem? Any help or insight would be appreciated !!!!
Thanks in advance
Bob

Without testing it is hard to be sure but ODDS support BOB (Burned Out Bulb) as the culprit.

IF that is the case...... I frequent electroincs parts stores (NOT radio Shack but places like ____ELectroinc sypply) They often have some baskets of plastic and wire things which are quarter inch diamater cylinders, the "Tube" is usually withe, there is a metal ring near one end and a lens beyond that it may be any color.. Two leads come out the other end of the tube, Look for one with red/black or red/white leads. Should say 12V on it.

In a nearby tub or fish bowl will be some metal "Speed nuts" get one of those too.

Near the BOB drill a quarter inch hole and hook up the new indicator, Shove it in, slide the speed nut to hold it and hook it up, Red is positive.

We removed the BOB (filament type) and replaced it with an led bulb. LED requires a resistor but merely solder that "in line" on the outside of the switch. It only gets easier if the bulb is seperate from the switch.....

I'm not sure how it could be a "BOB" if the light comes on when you use that switch? Maybe I've read this wrong. Power to that bulb should be on the same circuit the water pump is on, no? Pump on, both bulbs on, no matter which switch is used? My bet is a wiring issue, probably a dirty connection. Does this circuit use a relay/pump controller? You might have a look at the wiring diagram/schematic for that if it does. Could be a grounding thing....

First of all: Thanks for all of the advice.

Yesterday I checked my problem with the light on the switches. The light on the switch in the bathroom no longer works at all. Today I will get my tools and (get my hands dirty) to check further into my problem.

I took my water pump switch apart and replaced the burned out bulb with an LED and resistor. It was a real hassle to get it all stuffed in there.

When the water heater switch bulb burned out I bought an LED panel light with a built in resistor from Radio Shack, drilled a small mounting hole next to the switch and connected it to the switch. It looks like original installation.

Friday morning. I took the switch apart. I then called the company to see if a replacement is available. They will get back with me.
