Hi. We have a 2007 Itasca Sunrise with an A&E Weather Pro power awning. We just bought it in September and are currently at the end of 3 months in Florida. We've had problems with the awning going out and coming in. We have to pull to get it started and push to get it back in, so we've only had it out a few times. Today, we tempted fate and opened it again to wash it. Now it won't go in at all!

Following the instructions in the user's guide, we tried to manually close it. The instructions state to remove the screw in the top of the right top casting. It's supposed to immediately roll in, but nothing happened.

Has anyone else tried this method to manually retract their awning? Or tried any method?

With the help of a couple of friends tugging and pushing, we finally got the awning back in place and strapped down with ties. We'd still like to hear from anyone who successfully followed the instructions for manually closing the awning.

First: Some models there are TWO screws

Second you will have to help it a bit

Third: Doing this WILL break at least one wire in the head (Sorry no way around that)

Done it: Thankfully not my motor home.. Then I called Rachael (The RV-Girl) and she came out and installed a new motor for the poor guy.. Well.. he's not all that poor. since he did not have to pay for it (Warranty, brand new rig) plus he benefitted from both Rachael and My knowledge.. Seems his dealer forgot to give him a few things he should have gotten.. So he went back and had a chat with them too (like the override cable)
