I am having problems with my outdoor radio turning on by itself. It is causing my house batteries to go dead. Anyone having problems with this.

CJC, this was a pretty common situation on '03 - '05 Winnie coaches. Some people found that the Jensen, if that's yours, was not turned off (there was teeny button to press on the faceplate). Other people swore their radio got activated by spurious EMF (perhaps even a neighbor's garage door opener?). Some people replaced their radios altogether; others added their own mini on/off switch in the compartment. Try doing an advanced search (use the Find tab above) and keywords "Entertainment center" in the Winnebago Forum for say, the past 4 years...
(sorry I wan't much help for your resolving the problem).

If you're certain that only the outside radio is dragging down your batteries, you could pull the fuse for the radio, or switch the coach power off during storage.

My '03 Itasca Suncruiser had that happen whenever I would shut off the hpouse batteries via the battery disconnect switch. As soon as I turned the coach power back on again, the radio would start up. If I recall, I pulled the fuse or somehow disconnected it because I never used it anyway.

If you use the radio frequently, the only practical solution is to either replace it or install a secondary on/off switch. This essentially involves locating the unit's power source (see below) and then installing a simple 12-volt swith that is mounted in a convenient (outside) location. Radio Shack should have a 12-volt toggle switch that will do the trick. To mount these switches, you simply drill a hole (next to the radio), push the toggle switch through from the rear and use the threaded ring that comes with the switch to secure it in place.

If you don't use your radio often, remove one of the drawers in your RV to access the back of the unit. Then simply unplug the white plastic wiring coupling that provides power to the device. That will solve the battery drainage issue for good.
