Possibly, but not in my case. I live 40 miles outside of Los Angeles, the stolen car capitol of the world. My Progressive premium went down $6 when I renewed it last November. I had a claim during the previous period, so I fully expected it to go up instead. I'll keep my fingers crossed I don't run into the same fate come this November.

Hi Mike.

No - the insurance company do not keep track of where we park the RV, so that is not it.

Hi - found this thread interesting since I just got my renewal from Progressive and the premium has gone up just slightly. We've had it for two years, with no claims.

On Dane's comment that they don't track where you park the RV, I remember that Progressive wanted to know the zip code where it was parked. We were buying our first RV and were in the process of choosing where to store it so I typed in each of the different storage places we were considering and it did make a difference to the price. There was one zip code where they said they didn't offer insurance there! This is all in the San Francisco Bay area where there is a big difference in the safety of different areas so may not be true elsewhere.

I'm with ... "American Modern Insurance Group" through PoliSeek. $86.00 a month. Is that bad?

All other factors being equal, the zip code of the registered owner plays the largest part in making the rate. Another factor is the State Legislature. If the law of the state allows the insurer to raise rates, that is what they do.

I wonder if they will use that for an advertising slogan?

Progressive is a company I would never do business with. I have major philosophical differences with their CEO, so I exercise my right to go elsewhere.

Yes, a little bit. Have you had any claims?

Oh...I see you are not in the US. That might be why?

[QUOTE=Tom and Patty;652114]I just received our renewal. from Progressive. It went up 17%...$1212. to $1418.
My deductible went down on their disappearing program from $1000 to $750. Our insured value is 110K. I have one violation,,,,,no left turn in 2008. . My only ticket in 17 years, but it is hurting me here and with my autos.
I may have to shop some prices. When we first insured in 2004 we paid $780. ]

Disappearing deductibles cause increases, btw.

I have now had a talk with Progressive in an attempt to get them to better they offer on the insurance on our motorhome and toad. The result was disappointing - they are not prepared to lower their quote at all.

For the record: All drivers have completely clean drivers licenses although all being international licenses. No tickets or violations of any kind. We have also never made an insurance claim.

"Best price" for MH and toad is $2784 annually. "Second best" price, according to our insurance broker, is $4254 annually. This is by National Interstate.

Maybe we need another insurance broker because we feel that the one that we are using is not earning his/her money. Can anyone recommend one?

There were a couple of different ones mentioned in this thread on RV insurance.

Good luck and let us know how you make out. Those quotes are rediculous!
