FWIW, the last two rv's we have owned are 10-15 years old and we have never been advised that the lp tank needs to be certified. Portable tanks yes. Mounted tanks, no.

Off subject, but we have a local propane company that fills propane powered vehicles and motorhomes. Has a covered drive through canopy. Just pull up to the pump like pulling in to get fuel. Tech fills it, you pay, drive away. Local U-Haul is populated by folks that don't know which adapter to use for an rv tank. Stopped going there about 15 years ago.

Can’t speak for the rest of Canada but for Ontario there was a proposal to require RV’s with propane tanks to be inspected every 5 years back in 2016. This was shot down but some refill stations did not get the message thus the confusion.

Did get in contact with U-Haul, They did respond back and apologized. They agreed that the manager should not have refused and will be speaking with that person in regards.
