Many thanks..........

Thank you for all the excellent insight! I'll be heading out to inspect all three contenders next week, wondering if there are any specific areas I should inspect for corrosion that are particularly problematic? brake fittings? battery trays? etc.....
one thing is certain, whichever coach I end up with will get a thorough chassis wash once I get it home! along with an undercoating too

In a Class C I'd look for rust in the fenders, door panels, and compartment supports and braces. More critically, I'd check the condition of the roof and any signs of leaks, especially in the front section over the cab. Leaks lead to rot and mold, both issues that can make a rust underneath look minor. A common issue is a leak around the windows over the cab, front and sides that often get ignored when checking for caulking failure because they're a little harder to inspect. Carefully inspect the interior and ceiling of the over cab area and be very suspicious of any stains, odors, or redone areas.

mission success!

Well, after spending over 3 hours inspecting every square foot of the coach in Michigan I was completely impressed! absolutely no evidence of road salt corrosion and it was a complete cream-puff inside and out. excellent maintenance history and all it needs is some new shoes. after a little negotiating we agreed on a fair price......I'll be driving it home to LA in April! thanks to all who offered their experience and advice!
