Question about levellers

When we bought our used 1994 Class A years ago, we were told that it was essential that the rig always be levelled, even when parked and in storage, to insure that the refrigerator would not be damaged.

We have gone without RV ownership for 4 years now, and are back in the market, this time looking for a newer Class C. One of the criteria we have/had is automatic levellers because we are just too old now to get down on the ground to place blocks under wheels to level the rig.

We have not seen a single Class C with levels on the outside of the rig, let alone automatic levellers, and when we have asked dealers about this, they have told us that the newer refrigerators no longer require the rig to be level, whether in use or in storage.

Is this true? if so, then why do the newer Class A's still have levels on the outside of the rigs and automatic levellers? Why would Class C's NOT have them?

Thanx for any explanation.

You really should level your fridge, they have not changed all that much over the years. However, when I went to a C from several A's I found that leveling was not near as critical. I have air bags and can level pretty well "dead on" with those. Some guys use boards, some just get lucky and find a level site. I agree you will see very few C's with levelers, weight is the big concern. Levelers add a lot of weight to the rig and CCC is already skimpy.
