Our RV came with Maxxair vent covers on all the vents. They are wonderful for allowing us to keep the vents open without worrying about rain.
I just installed a fantastic fan 5000 (reversible with thermostat)
Fan-Tastic Ceiling Fan Vent - Product - Camping World in the bedroom. We had the standard Maxxair vent cover reinstalled over the fantastic fan. However it seemed to really inhibit the air flow.
I decided to get a Ramble vent cover
http://www.campingworld.com/shopping...nslucent/32000 today to install instead in hopes that more air would flow through the fan. It does indeed help with air flow. However I would like to hear from any long term owners of the Ramble vent cover. Does water ever get in?
On a side note we also replaced the bathroom fan with the fantastic fan create a breeze model
Create-a-Breeze Fan - Item - Camping World . This fan is quieter than the 5000 model. With it's opaque cover I sort of wish I had gotten this cheaper version for the bedroom also so I wouldn't have to worry about light getting in the vent opening when sleeping. Hindsight is 20/20.
The reason we didn't get the Maxxair II or the Maxxair Fan Mate was that they were significantly more than the Ramble. If we get good reports on the Ramble or have good first hand experience in various rain storms I may replace my other Maxxair vent covers.
Thanks for any input!
