The slide area could be the biggest challenge. It depends on what your slide travels on when coming in, rollers or skids. Skids could scratch your new wood/laminate as they move in or out. There are plastic sliders that can be placed in front of them when you bring the slide in. Hopefully someone will chime in with where to get these. Also, if I was to do it over again I would not remove all the original carpet under the slide, only enough so it wouldn't show with the slide fully extended. Be prepared to pull a lot, I mean really a lot of staples, on my National Tradewinds it looked like there were two workers doing the carpet, one with a big stapler and the other with a smaller stapler. I believe they were being paid for piece work as there was a bazillion of them. Long nose needle pliers from Harbor Freight really made it easier. They're about 8" long and one is bent at an angle, they are sold as a pair. There are lots of posts on this Forum about this subject. In the National forum some of us even posted pictures. It might appear tough at first, but the end result is well worth it. Post before and after pics. Good luck.
BTW, I used mostly carpet squares made by Miliken to replace the old carpet. They have a tacky backing so you don't need to glue or staple them in place. Also, much easier to work with then regular carpet.
