I think the camera monitor is going out. It flashes brighter then back down. It is enough to be annoying at night. It is a quick flash, then dimming again. I looked at the back of monitor and checked the cable and power connections without finding anything. The screen does not go blank, just flashes like I had turned the brightness knob quickly up and down. Any suggestions before I take it to dealer?

What is a camera sensor? Do you mean lens and associated electronics?

The rear facing camera is normally positioned so it can 'see' to the rear [snark] and mounted up towards the roofline in the back end.

Check to see if it is clean/clear. Else, have it checked by someone in the know. I couldn't drive w/o mine. It is set so the middle of the screen sees the tail end of the toad. This gives me a view of the car and a fair look at traffic behind me.
