Recent Amazon Gadgets

Since spring has arrived I had several projects that I needed to handle. I found all of these items on Amazon and I've been really pleased.

First, was a battery fill kit. My house batteries are in a side compartment and there is no way to easily check the level in the batteries without removing them from the compartment. That's not easy to do. As a result, they've run low on two occasions. I found this Flow-Rite RV2000 Pro-Fill RV Edition 2 Battery Kit and fill pump on Amazon and installed it last weekend. Slickety.

Amazon.com: Flow-Rite RV2000 Pro-Fill RV Edition 2 Battery Kit: Automotive

Then, on my last trip out, I broke that little stupid plastic clip that keeps my mirrored closet doors shut. I alway hated those things and knew they would break sooner or later. Well, did some googling and found this:

Amazon.com: Defender Security Patio door lock S-4124: Baby

Uses strong double-face tape to stick to the closet door. You flip it down when you're traveling. Keeps the door nice and secure and does away with those plastic clips.

And the last thing on my project list, was to fix my rear TV. My coach was built in 2007 which was right before the DTV changeover. So, my back TV was not digital ready. It wasn't a problem while connected to cable or watching DVDs, but over-the-air did not work. I needed to add a converter box (which I had) but needed to mount it cleanly under my rear cabinet under the TV. I was searching around in Lowe's looking for some way to mount the box underneath that wouldn't look tacky and didn't want to use Velcro because it just doesn't seem to hold. Then, I remembered years ago when we owned a 5th wheel I had installed a TV hold-down system that I thought would work perfectly. If it would keep a TV in place, surely it would work for a little converter box. So, again to Amazon I go and found it:

Amazon.com: Quakehold! 4065 TV Strap: Home Improvement

Works perfect. I just used the little end buckles and strap. Holds very tight and looks clean.

Anyway, that's it. Just wanted to share my little gadgets that made my life a bit easier on the road.

I don't like those plastic clips on the mirrored closet doors either. I found mine was slightly off center so the first thing I did was move it. It works a lot easier now but being plastic I know it's only a matter of time before it breaks.

I use two pieces of 1" dowel. One in and one out resting in the door tracks. I put pieces of felt on each end. I got tired of replacing the plastic gadgets.
