CampDaven - Unfortunately our credit union does not finance RVs -- very fussy people.

I have to admit I did not Google them for customer satisfaction. But after I learned that the people at Essex & PPL knew each other, I felt pretty confident. Each knew the other's routines, and that just made it as smooth as glass. Interestingly, PPL's local recommended credit source had too high a rate.

We went through this last August. We checked Costco (Essex) and the 20yr fixed loan was over 4%....same with Good Sam (Also Essex)....and also with Bank of the West.

We eventually got a 3.74 through B of A, 20 years, 15% down.

FWIW, we checked with our loacal FCU and they were 5.99....(Mod Edit)?

I just got 4.49 on a 11 year old coach for 85K. I could have got it down to about 2.99 if I was willing to buy a newer coach or put a lot more money down. I had to fight for what I got with a very good credit score. CU would only go 84 months at 5.99.

Interest Rate Question

You are posting better interest rates than what my dealer found for me. My personal bank has ridiculous rates. The rate I was quoted was 5.85. Was told since it is the beginning of the season the rates are usually a little higher. We have off the chart credit rating (which means excellent). Should I be searching more privately and where 'cause so far I'm getting rates in the same range for 15 years...and it is a 2002 model...possibly that makes a difference.

The season has nothing to do with rates for loans so you may be getting a little kibosh. I would agree/suggest looking further to see if anything is available from other lenders. Just an example, Essex has nothing higher then 4.62% for used RVs: https://www.essexcredit.com/home/rv/rates/#rvused
