We have a Dometic refrigerator with two outside vents. The lower vent allows rain water to spash up into the vent ,and run down inside the MH by going down behind the refrigerator ,under it ,on to the kitchen floor . This happens during any hard rain or if the Mh is parked with a slight tilt toward the driver side. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it? I am trying to modify the vent.

The floor the refrigerator is standing on should be made to be liquid tight. The base of ref and outside area should be sealed so water cannot enter the coach. If the area if designed correctly there will be an incline from the outside to the inside so water flows away from inside and if you ever had a gas leak the LP could fall out and not puddle. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks Mike. The back of the refrig. unit has a metal tray that is not sealed against the coach. Nor is there a slope outward for the water to run out of the coach. When the water enters through the vent it runs down behind the refrig. and out on to the floor of the kitchen. The water does not wet the floor directly under the refrig. but puddles up on the bottom of the cabinet compartment made to hold the refrig.. I then drips down and can be seen from inside the coach. I have removed the vent and modified the interior side of it. I would like to post a pic, but don't know how to on this forum. I hope this will stop the leaking.
