I have recently purchased a 1997 National Tropical with a spotlamp on the roof. I can't find any controls for it in the rv and was thinking that it must work with a wireless remote. Today the spotlamp mysteriously turned on by itself and I could only turn it off by switching the battery disconnect off.

Can anyone tell me what kind of spotlamp they used on the 97 Tropical and where I can locate a remote for one?

We had a remote spotlight on top of our first coach and it was controlled by a couple of toggle switches, one to select spot or flood beam and the other to elevate it up or down and/or from right to left. If you can find the brand name you might google it and perhaps find the parts you need.

Here's a place to start: http://www.google.com/products?hl=en...lights+for+Rvs

& here's another:http://www.dealtime.com/xPC-Jabsco_Remote_Spotlight
Good luck, Jim

A photo might help but a popular model that is used in the aftermarket is the Go Light. They swivel and go up and down via wireless remote. Take a look at their site if this looks familiar.

It probably is the Go Light but if not, get on the roof, get the make and model and contact the mfg for a remote.

Our coach came equipped with a remote spotlight, but outside of the demo at delivery, I have never had it on. It has a small remote control that is somewhere inside the MH, I keep the lense pointed toward the back to keep bug splatter down.
The only thing(s) I could see to use it for would be looking for numbers on sites if you check in later, or perhaps checking out a potential path for overhanging limbs on a dark night.

If it is a GoLight, RVupgrades has a wireless dash mounted remote for it.

Remote

This place is great. Thanks to everyone for your help. I'll try to get a picture of it uploaded as soon as this storm passes by, but it sure does look like a GoLight. I did look on it for anything that would indicate who the manufacturer was but could not see any markings at all. Hopefully, once I post a picture, one of you folks will recognize it.

Thanks again for all your great responces.

Those remote spotlights are the greatest thing since slided bread.

I back our MH in the driveway, & keep the remote in the kitchen in our stick house.
(Upper floor of a 2 story house).

When the dog barks too much......I can light up the whole neighborhood

I finally got a chance to take a few pictures of the remote spotlamp. There are no markings on it to indicate a manufacturer but it does look like a Golight from what I can see. Anyone else have input? A spare remote?
