This post is also linked to National forum in hopes of finding others with a similar situation. ED

Does the Nationwide Claims document make any reference to when its coverage begins, either a specific date or upon termination of the manufacturer's warranty? That would seem to me to be the crux of the matter.

Jayson, I had a leak in my out going hot water heater hose recently. Instead of removing the water heater I removed the insulated panel on the opposite side of the coach by unscrewing 2 angle supports and grey foam sealer. Once removed, I could access the 30" hose easy and replace it with a stainless steel braded hose from Home Depot. To remove the end at the water heater I had to squeeze in and reach the connection with a open end wrench. Cost about $15.

Jayson, you may want to consider cancelling the policy and requesting a refund. After a year if you must have an insurance policy for repairs you could start a new one but you will still have some warranties in effect by the manufacturers of systems and appliances. Good luck and keep us posted.

Technically speaking the National rv warranty expired when they went out of business. I'd contact the EW company and appeal.

It is typical for these policies to have a clause that says they will not pay for repairs covered by a product warranty or should have been covered by a warranty. If it has that or similar wording, you are out of luck.
It's not unfair. The premium they calculated and charged you assumed that all repairs in the first year would be paid for by someone else under the various warranties that apply. And you do have a valid warranty claim against NRV and if you file it with the court you will indeed become another of National's unsecured creditors. Unfortunately, you will also be advised that there is not a snowball's chance that you will ever receive any reimbursement from the bankruptcy court. It's not your fault, but it is not your Extended Service company's fault either. You are stuck unless they somehow omitted the necessary legalese from your policy.
