Anyone here ever removed some of the 'graphics' decals on your MH? When new, I know that they can be removed quite easily with a hair dryer but not so sure after a year and a half or so sitting in the weather. Also, I'm not sure if the MH has discolored enough that if I remove the stripes you'll see where they once were.

Any suggestions? I mainly want to remove some of the blue stripes off the sides, front and rear of the MH.

The hair dryer should work regardless of the age. An older more brittle decal may come off in more pieces, but still come off. Then GooGone or something similar will help in removing any remaining adhesive.

I think how noticeable it will be will depend on the color it is on, and whether or not it is full body paint or gel-coat fiberglass. I presume in your case, it is on white gel-coat. The white background should make the "missing" decal less noticeable that a dark background, but there still will likely be a little difference. Enough to bother you? ...may depend on you.

I lost one letter off a decal on my coach, and in March 2006 I removed the rest to see what it would look like. It was on a medium colored area (not dark, not light) on clearcoat full body paint. It was not hard to see the darker paint where the decal had been. It might be possible for a paint pro to buff it out, but after trying several things I had the decal replaced. If I were ordering one I think I would request "no decals."

When the weather warms up a bit, I'm going to give it a try. I'll start small and see how it goes. It's gel-coat white, so hopefully the MH hasn't discolored too much. I'd like to remove quite a bit of the blue striping, keeping the thin beige to tie in with the bottom. They just fade over time, no matter how much you wax them. Not sure why the RV industry seems to think we all want these huge graphics all over the sides... if I was ordering a new unit, I too would go with the 'graphics delete' option.

Richard let us know how it goes. I plan to take the "W" off the sides of mine this Spring. With the warmer weather and a hair dryer I'm hoping it goes smooth.

Richard: Why remove them? On my previous Winny I ordered some new decals and just went right over the old ones. Looked perfect and the old decals gives you the alignment you need when putting on the new. Unless you old decals are pealing so badly or raised up I would consider this. Much easier and you will be amazed at how easy it is. I spent less than a day re-doing the front and rear of my old Adventurer. Bought the decals from a Winny supplier. They matched up perfectly. Just a thought for you.

I'm just not a fan of all the decals; simple is better to me. If I could have just a plain-white MH, I'd do it.

My Vectra looked like a rolling billboard ,so when it was a month old I took "all" the lettering and decals off using a heat gun,low heat setting. After removing each item I then used Goof Off to remove the balance of the glue. The only place on the coach with the Winnebago name is on the front hood brass colored name plate.

We also removed some of the stripes and the Adventurer name on both sides of our MH, right after we bought it, with a hair dryer.WE did not use goo gone but now after 3 years we can still see faint outlines in just the right light of the stripe we took off after we wash the MH.
It just seemed such a cluttered look, we did not need it. Rather have a more clean cut look, specialy on the " patio" side

I sure will second the "no decals" thought. I have had to replace one of mine and will have to re-do some more. Not a fun job and wasted money. I am not sure if you can order a coach sans decals, but I sure would try to in the future. If you buy from dealer inventory you are whipped. They like the glitz.

You'll always be able to see where the decals were after they're removed, even it's only discernible at certain angles in bright sunlight.

You probably can't order it without the decals but they would come off quite easily and the exterior panels wouldn't have had time to discolor.

It's probably still worth my effort to remove some, even if you can still see where there were after I've removed them. Otherwise, the decals will fade anyway and that never looks good...

We removed some very old decals using a wheel that is made by 3M which we bought at Napa Auto parts. Any remaining glue we removed using 90% rubbing alcohol. We tried Goo-gone, etc. withour any results. You will be able to see where the decals were. Good luck, HarveyP
