Removing the winegard

I need to remove the mount to the winegard crank up antenna to install a new mount. The old one is in bad shape.

Got the parts.. Well, most of them, today.

Question is, after I remove all the screws around the base, what is the best way to get through the sealer/putty/goo.... That is around the base gluing it to the rubber roof? Need to do it without damaging the rubber roof.

Base removal isn't normally required. Most of unit can be rebuilt without removing base. A careful scraper usually works best

Not sure what type of goop yours is installed with but mine was done using Dicor Self Levelling Sealant. It can be removed using a scrapper being careful not to puncture the rubber. Once removed, you should be able to clean off the sealant, clean the area thoroughly and apply new Dicor to any openings left behind by the original installation. Then proceed with installing a new dish with Dicor Sealant if that is your intention.

Another question....what to seal the new one with? Silicon sealer/calk? Latex? I am guessing latex sense it and the roof are both rubber.

Dicor Self Levelling Sealant. Comes in a tube and is the only product to use on a rubber roof. Do Not Use Silicone!!!

Camping World or most RV Supply stores will have Dicor.

Thanks, I did read it.

What about "flex seal" or rustoleum's "leak seal"? They both claim to be rubber based products.
