These shades are in excellent shape overall, but I am unable to locate anyone to re-string them. Hate to have to buy new because the ones I have looked at thus far don't match my other shades.

I am currently staying near Grand Rapids, Michigan. Could put off this project till fall when I move to Panama City, Florida.

Suggestions?
It is a very achievable task. We also disliked the drawstrings and went to YouTube and saw it demoed. Of course the demo simplified the task. We did complete all of the restringing of 11 shades, three of them were wide formats.
We truly are very pleased with the results.
Good luck with your efforts.

Good call.

I found the following:
Specialty Window Coverings, Inc.,
1614 Eisenhower Dr. North,
Goshen IN 46526-5381
Tel 574-262-5190 (Select Customer Service prompt)

I called them and yes, they will re-string pleated shades. If you wish to bring them in and wait, get there early AM (before 10AM) in that they quit for the day at 1:30PM. So happy I found them I never asked the cost. I think I did see something on google about $25 per shade.

Now for the hard part, just getting them down. From my conversation, the customer service rep said that some are mounted in the valance and some mounted to the valance, but all are usually difficult to remove.

Anybody done this before?

They are a pain in the neck, literally. Sit in a chair or whatever you can sit on or lie back on. Then look up so you don't have to twist your neck,

A camera will help by taking pictures too.

Shade Repair

The previous owner of our coach had at least one of the day/night shades re-strung. I found the invoice in our owners manual bag.
