Repairing Bathroom wall

I did not realize until it was to late that water seeped through outside moulding into bathroom. My slip up. I already caulked the moulding to prevent future water prevention. The bathroom wall has several bulges at the bottom. Today I decided to rip out wet section. Interested in know what material others have used. Obviously I’m not going to be able to match existing wallpaper.

Will finish getting the rest up in a few days.

I'd look at this as an opportunity to spruce up this bathroom.

One option would be..
There are several brands of thin wood patterned plank "peel-and-stick" paneling out there. They are perfect for giving small areas a face lift or a touch-of-class. This would be a perfect application. They come in packs of certain lengths, and then you'd just measure, cut with a razor knife, peel and stick. It would get rid of that factory stock look, freshen up the bathroom and cover the problem. Then get rid of those mini-blinds and add a nice little deco shade instead and that bathroom would be transformed.

This "peel-and-stick" approach also can be done tile too.

I had some simple delamination repair on my old Mirada. There was no structural damage, just the old plywood was falling apart from water damage.

I really appreciate the detail included in how you repaired the water damage. It’s really helpful. I will likely use bead board on the damaged area. This will probably happen in March when the weather starts to warm up.
