I'm preparing to replace the six tires on our 2003 Bounder. The original tires are Michelin 245/70R 19.5 XRV types. In checking around I’ve heard that currently Michelin is having some problems with side wall failures with this model tire. Many folks are recommending Goodyear G670 RV as a good replacement. Goodyear also has a plain G670 (w/o RV) which I understand is the same as the G670 RV but without UV protection. The non RV types are less expensive. I would like to hear some feedback on the Goodyear tires or other tires that might be recommended.

Considering the money I’m going to shell out I don’t want to make a mistake.

Although I am on the 22.5" size I have had very good results (G670RV) and would recommend them for your coach too.

Mr. Roo, check out the Michelin XZE tire for your rig. Available thru Costco if you are a member. Walls are a little stiffer than XRV, but not enough to be objectonable to me. They are also available in higher load range if you need it. I have been running these on the front of my motorhome, I also use 19.5 inch size. Goodyears probably are less subject to sidewall cracking than Michelins. I ran my original tires 5 years, and changed because of the cracking. I plan on running the rears for 7 years before replacing.

I can also highly recommend the G670RV tire. Good ride and handling. I had mine balanced with Equal powder and have had no issues for 3 years.

dieselclacker made a good suggestion. The XZE line of Michelin tires have been an excellent buy for me. Long wearing and smooth as glass.
