Question Restringing blinds on a 2001 Fleetwood Jamboree

I recently purchased a 2001 Fleetwood Jamboree and the cord on the blinds need to be replaced. I have removed the side brackets on the valance but the valance appears to be fastened to the bottom of the cabinet which is above the valance. Is there a secret to getting to these screws which are not readily visible?

If you separate the top pleat you should see the screws.

Like Clif said, one screw in each end to remove, then the header tips out of the clip-style brackets. String may be purchased locally from most any paint or blinds shop. Often, when the string breaks it's because the plastic eyelets in the center or bottom section is worn and must be replaced.
The "secret" to string longevity is tension, you should have just enough to hold the blind in place when released.

I found the best place to learn how to restring the blinds was youtube. There's a lot of videos on restringing them. I got my string at a fabric store, as suggested in one of the videos.

As for getting them down. I had to hunt for the hangers and screws.

Agreed on the youtube videos. Watch a couple and take your time.

Getting the blinds down can be a challenge. If you have a small magnet, it can help you find where the hidden screws are.

Good Luck !!

You can also use "the dirty blind man . com" as a resource. I bought the string, grommets and a very good spray cleaner from him and could not be happier.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my thread. I found a good video on You Tube and finally found the elusive screws that held the blinds in place

Thanks, I stand corrected. I've done about 1/2 of the blinds so far.
A few weeks ago, I was ready to do the rear bedroom window restring and though it may be time to freshen up things a bit. I found a website,
Steve's Blinds and Wallpaper - Wallpaper, Blinds, Shades & More
That sold me a new Day Night shade with the same buff color day shade as we had already but with a darker color to help keep some light out at night for the night part of the shade for around 100 bucks. That shade is 45 wide by 28 long. Nice folks to do business with . We are going to replace a few more very soon.
