Ok, silly question. I want to add a rope light to my patio awning. Do these have to be put up and taken down each time the awning is retracted or does the awning just roll up over the rope light???

I wouldn't want to roll a rope light up into my awning but maybe someone is doing it with no problems. We have a friend who mounted the rope light onto the side of his motorhome about 6 inches below where his awning is attached. Works and looks good and he can use the light even when the awning is rolled up! I would go that way if I were you but others may have better ideas. Good Luck!

I don't recommend it. My brother has the same rope lights I have, and he tried rolling them up. Made for a bulky roll, and he does not roll them up any more with the awning.
