rubber roof

Just getting our 97 dolphin cleaned up and noticed the the rubber roof has a lot of black spots on it. Not any pattern, so wondering if it is supposed to look like this or needs to be recleaned. I scrubbed it this am with a nylon brush and some rubber top cleaner from camper world, and it lightened the roof up but still have the spots. Buddy said use some of his whitwall cleaner, but after reading instructions about how strong this stuff is wear rubber gloves and so forth I didnt want it running down the sides of mh. Any ideas??? Thanks for any info

This should help, pay attention to the fourth paragraph in the rubber roof section.

I have heard using a mild detergent like "Simple Green" and a soft brush works without damaging the roof?

Dick, your roof before looked 10 times better than mine does now. I have large black spots and don't know if I should try to get the black out or not. I tested a small area with solution of kitchen soft cleanser and water and found it removed the black spots but I am afraid this may damage the roof. I am wondering if the cleaner you used will be strong enough for me.

The roof should not be spotted.. Spic & Span, Mop or a "Van Wash" Brush (This is a car was brush with an extension handle, Very nice) bucket and water.. Scrub it down.

Makes the black white again.

Home is where I park it!
