After years of reading your posts, I must say that I have truly learned from all of you, so thanks. Why go to RV Driving School, I had asked myself a few times over the years. I had some time to kill and took a few hours to learn all about the DOT's for your windows, mirrors and side body. DOT's you say, yep DOT's at Lazy day's RV in Tampa, Florida. I could not believe what a simple idea could make driving my RV even more fun. I am no driving instructor, so I want tell you how they work and parking wow. The instructor put two sticks on the ground in the parking space and backed a 40 footer RV placing the left rear tire between the two sticks cutting it in at 90 degrees. It was all done by using the Dots on the windshield, morrows and side body. Now I can park my 36 footer left side or right side without a spotter (wife) into the RV 90 degree turn rear in first. What a simple idea, it takes all of the work and fighting out of parking. More ideas were learned and a lot of good driving tips. How many of you can say you have never had to learn anything from another RVer. If you have the time, do it. It will make driving your RV more fun and enjoyable for both of you.
I was asked by one of the members in this forum where he could find the information being that he lives in CA.It took me a while but I found this for him and all of you. I found the information and it has not been an easy find. I searched the internet with no luck and contacted Mark with RV.Net with other helpful tips on RV's. Then when I was about ready to give up on finding anything. While in camping world and found a book called: "ALL the STUFF YOU need to know about RVing" by Doctor Ronald E. Jones and Robert G. Lowe". Within the first few pages you will find the driving tips and much more information on driving. This is the driving tips I was trying to let all of you know about and it works for any kind of RV. The book is a paper back with over 238 pages a nice weekend read. I am happy you asked me other wise I may have never looked for it. The book has all kinds of helpful information, not just driving, packing, how to live, hook up, unhook, dump, safety, inside outside stuff, how to maintain, their website address is: "RV Stuff" You will enjoy the ton of tips provided. I have already been to an open parking lot to get the ideas Dr. Ronald E. Jones was talking about into my head. He will give you alot more than what I learned in driving class.
Hope this well be helpful to all of you. Drive safe always.

My wife and I took that course, and it really made me relax more behind the wheel as I felt more confidence.

In reviewing my prior post I did not see the website for the book, which is RVStuff.com in the USA at 800-262-3060 in canada in or 877-266-5398. I got my book at Camping World and I understand you may also find them at Target stores.copy right is 2004 so the book is not very old information. On page 200 near the end of the book you will find information reguarding GPS. One last point about the book is that Class C RVers, 5th wheels on page 85, and more.
Well enjoy the world of RVing and Drive safe.

I have a DVD entitled, "Drive Your Motorhome Like A Pro." First one to ask for it in an email gets it. Just email with name and address and I'll send it out. azloafer@cox.net
