I stacked all my coverages together, and raised the policy limits to 500K/250K and still got a heck of a deal......

Insurance for the new home is $1922 for the year with $100 deductible and $1,000,000 liability. It will be a nice rebate when we put it away for the winter/Lay-Up. I love public insurance.

Well we have Allstate who now has a new RV insurance. We pay 1165 a year. And someone here at irv2 who is a progressive rep told me to check progressive cuz they could beat any price. Progressive told me they cold not touch the price and coverage I have on my rv. I have a 200 dollar deductible, max liability that one can get along with 20,000 for personal property inside the rv.

Ask the people in Florida how well Allstate pays.

Has anyone tried Geico? While browsing through online, I found out that they're also insuring RV's. I'm also shopping around for insurance quotes, I'll gave them a look-up.

Are you saying that Allstate does not pay in Florida?

Check with the Florida State Insurance Commissioner on Allstate's (or any other insurers) payment of claims and if they have ever been suspended from selling insurance in the state of Florida.

Some people make things out to be worse than what they are. I thought maybe they had did something wrong. In my book that is nothing. I have seen insurance companies like Progressive refuse to cover full a fulltimers accident because they were full timers. Here is what allstate did;
Allstate Insurance is suspended from selling any new policies in Florida until it complies with a court order and cooperates with a state investigation into how the insurance company set its rates for homeowners insurance.

And they have complied and this was due to something florida was trying to do to reduce insurance rates for hurricane insurance. Which is not something everyone in every state needs to worry about.
But we thank you and appreciate you Jim for crying wolf

Lee,

Ask the people who were insured by them how they paid their claims after the hurricanes. I do know that the residential and auto are two separate sides. They're not real spiffy about paying auto claims either. If I won't trust my house or my auto to them, I'm certainly not trusting them to insure my MH. However, others may have had different experiences with them. If you're happy with them that's all that counts. I must admit, Allstate is not on the bottom of my personal list. That honor goes to State Farm.

I second the state farm, they would not insure my home because it was out in the rural country away from man. I am happy with Allstate, they have insured my home cars and now rv. I have filed several claims with them on my home and even one on my rv after our first trip out. They covered all quickly. I was going to go to explorer rv or flying j insurance which is the cheapest I have ever seen for the coverage and everyone speakes well of them. They are both under National Insurance who does not unsure directly but thru other agents. But Allstate come up with an rv insurance that was equal to and actually was just few dollar less then explorer so I stayed with them.
Im sorry to hear about allstate leaving people out to dry, according to dozen or so news articles I found on google and msn they said nothing about that only that allstate would not answer to a new law florida passed.

Lee,

Maybe they have improved here in Florida. They are not the only ones that were guilty of "shoddy" practices and very slow or non payment. For our car insurance we use Southern Owners a subsidiary of Auto Owners. They are the highest rated in the industry. Unfortunately, they do not sell RV insurance. I'm glad Allstate has worked out for you.
