RV Insurance Problem

My wife and I are from PEI, Canada, and are spending the winter in southern Mississippi until March 15. While we're here, our 24' Gulfstream 2000 is covered by CAA, a Canadian insurance company. While in Mississippi, we want to trade our small RV for a newer 30' Winnebago from a local dealer. We'd like to buy the unit, park it for 30 days in the RV park we're in, and drive it back to PEI, doing the border-crossing business and registering it in our home province. However, CAA says it can't insure us until the unit is registered in PEI. Mississippi insurance agents can't insure us, because it's not registered in Mississippi. Yes, CAA will put some kind of travel binder on it when we drive it home but not while it's sitting for 30 days in the RV park. Any creative work-around ideas on how to resolve this problem?

Have the dealer lease it to you for those thirty days and keep it under their policy. I don 't know if they can do this. Just thinking

If parked then not on road, so insurance is for personal property protection, so maybe renters insurance of some sort.

Some insurance has a 30 day rider on new purchase.

You may wish to call the state insurance commission where you are at, they may have a clue.

Find a better insurance agent? I mean CAA/AAA is NOT your only option. I'm with Nationwide, There is also a very very very long list of others out there.
Home is where I park it!
