Me too -- I watched a guy coming out of "burning man" this summer and he dumped his system while I was getting ready. Feed back would be appreciated.

I put a RV SaniCon on my Phaeton in 2006. It works well. Makes waste water management a lot easier and cleaner.

I hav used a macerator on and off for 8 years. The only problem I had was from the habit I had of combing my hair and throwing the shedding into the toilet. It would wrap around the motor shaft and bind the pump.No hair in the tank and no problems.

I have had a Flo Jet for a couple years and really like it. For me the plus is a couple things, I can dump at my shop by running the hose right into the sewer clean out in front of my building, not be in a hurry when there are others waiting at the campground dump spot, and get a really good clean out with the black tank flush running for a while. The other part is at some spots with full hook up, the dump pipe is either to tall or out of place for easy dump, again just hook up the hose and pump off up to 100ft away.

I have one and really like it. With that said, for those spending several days or more at full hook up sites this does require you to actively manage youir black water tank and monitor your grey water tank. You can't leave your black water tank open as many do with the traditional 4" hose. You must also monitor your gray water tank. Although gray water is suppose to free flow around the macerator, mine does occassionally clog.
If I were to spend several weeks or more at a location, I would probably use the traditional hose. I haven't stayed anywhere that long yet.

We have one and love it. The only management we do is when we're parked for longer stays. We keep tanks closed until 2/3 full and then dump (to make sure flow is good).

I have the Sani-Con system with grey water pass through. Go to Tetford Sani-Con Macerator - iRV2.com RV Photo Gallery and Tetford Sani-Con Macerator - iRV2.com RV Photo Gallery to see the installation. For me, the grey water bypass is a must have.

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble..... we had one for 10 months and I finally took it off!! Too stinky....I wanted to chg waste valves, since they were pretty old....OMG.... lots of "muck" in the valve/Y/areas..... seems macerator wasn't pulling all the waste out.... slowly got really stinky!!!!! plus, coming into RV as well.... after lots of research, bought the DrainMaster Polychute system...... completely SEALED and NO ODOR at all..... not cheap, but cheaper than Macerator and allows the flow to be as designed.... plus, the coupling is awesome and the hose has the rings on the outside so it flows with no restrictions.........
Stinky Free!!!!!

Hi Downsizer,
Not to worry, my bubble remains intact. My macerator has been on the coach for almost 2 years. No stink and no mess. Using the black rinse feature (Newmar includes in all its' coaches) a couple of times a year makes for a clean flush out the clear connector. To each his own. There are many products that serve RVers. We are fortunate to have all the choices we have. May you have the same good luck with your choice as I have had with my choice..

My clean Dump system is 3 years old and I've never had a problem. I use the black tank flush every time I dump and see no evidence of "gunk" buildup.

I use a Sanicon portable when I'm pumping into a household sewer cleanout or septic tank or need to dump a distance from the coach. I still use the slinky when I'm at a campground or dumping at Love's etc. The slinky gives you a better "clean out" with the woosh and is quicker, so no holding up a line. My unit does not have a gray water bypass, but I just use a hose and a hose coupling adapter hooked to my sewer outlet and drain by gravity.
