I was wondering if anyone had bought the RV consumer group CD. I am looking for a another used Coach and am thinking of buying this CD. Does it have good info and is it worth the $78 that they sell for?

We used the RV Consumer Group CD prior to purchasing our coach and believe it helped us make a better decision. Their ratings narrowed our choices down considerably and saved us a lot of time at the dealership. We will use it again if we wear this one out.

Just remember that the RV Consumer's Group does not actually test RVs and that some of their evaluation criteria are opinion rather than generally accepted engineering principles. Read their reviews but consider other sources as well (e.g. ask other owners via this web site) and make your own final judgements.

Patty and I used it last year to buy our Alpine. It gave us GVW's and cargo capabilities. Some coaches only have a carrying capacity of 800 lbs! We also used it to price units at dealers that had coaches we liked. It really helped us to determine, along with the internet, which dealer was giving a fair price. At one dealer in Fresno we were asked how we came to make an offer on their unit. I showed them all the internet and RV Consumers pricing (on comparably equipped units) and all they could do was shrug. They were 30 K higher than RV C and 10K-15k higher than internet. We bought elsewhere at below the RV Consumers. I would say it helped.

Then we checked pros and cons on iRV2 before our final decision. We are very happy with our first RV.

I agree with Tom and Patty.....We purchased CD from RV Consumer and used it to throughly research the coaches we were interested in. It is not the only resource you should use....however it gave us alot of information before going out and looking. We are extremely happy with the used coach we purchased.

Good Luck
