RV repair service generally sucks

two months my rv is sitting in the local shop waiting and waiting and more waiting. Two weeks ago they got the check from the insurance. They wont start work until all the parts are received. I am so frustrated with the lousy service provided here and in general most everywhere else. It is enough to make me almost regret buying it. I know I will feel different when I get it back. I was rear ended by an 18 wheeler so this is not warranty work. totaled toad, hitch, dolly, and smashed front end from being pushed into another rv that was in front of me.

Ah I feel a little better now.

A month and half to get the insurance check? Then two weeks waiting for parts? Looks like your anger should be toward the insurance company. Now if you coach sits there for several more weeks, then I would be asking WHY? Sometimes the squeaky wheel does get the grease.

Best of luck. Hope you get her back real soon better than new!

The insurance was waiting for the revised estimate from the rv place. No problems with the insurance. Took them one day to get the check to the rv place. The problems are numerous but basically the rv places provide crappy customer service. I insist on visiting each Friday to get an update. Of course there is always some [moderator edit] excuse why it still sits.

Oh, I see. That does make a difference. In that case, I agree with you!

Wow, an 18 wheeler. That must of been scarey.

This won't help you now in your current situation, but in the future if you ever need some service, this link will help you work through all the noise and vet a service shop first that other RVer's have used in the past with comments and reviews.

Good luck my friend.

The Solution!

Have you tried going there and turning your flashers on?
That seemed to be the end-all answer on the OP's post regarding the accident.

I doubt that would help in either situation.

It may help to call the insurance company and the bank if it is financed and ask them to put a fire under the repair shop. Also most states require repair shops to be registered and have a consumer affairs complaint dept you may be able to contact who will investigate.

Well it was your decision to take it to that shop. You could have another place and if the current shop is real busy then it makes since that it is taking too long. You don't want them to start the job then have to stop to get more parts and just put your MH out to pasture while they wait. You could end up with more damage to your MH that way.
It's too late now to change so stay on top of it. Don't let them put it out to pasture, while they fix others.
Good luck and glad you are OK from the accident.
