The only thing about tenters - the smell of maryjane slowly emanating from the tent seems to put me to sleep a lot earlier than I planned! This seems to happen primarily in Ca. Oh, I forgot - it's a medical thing!

Many years ago there was a housing development, right next to the one in which we ended up buying a lot, with beautiful 5 acre lots. We really liked the property, and while a bit expensive, the lots weren't prohibatively so. Problem was, they required that you build a half million dollar house (this was 30 years ago) on your lot. We couldn't afford a third of that.

I don't see this as any different. Like a lot of HOAs, they've narrowed their demographic to what we would consider overkill, but, that's their perrogative.

Anybody know the name of this exclusive place that doesn't want to cater to us nice, down-to-earth folk? Just curious.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

We started with a tent. We did not then, nor do not now, do drugs of any kind.... Legal or illegal. :P

I started this post and didn't want to mention the name of the resort, but the advertisement is shown on page 82 of the latest FMCA magazine.

Class A, Class C, Class upi "T"

We have been out of RVing for 17 years and just started again with our 38' diesel pusher. Last week we stayed in a beautiful park in Ft. Meyers Florida because it was near Camping World. They allowed only Class A over 35' or high end fifth wheels. I have never seen a place like this, it was drop dead gorgeous! All of the rigs looked to be right out of the showroom, but the biggest surprise was how nice the people were! They were no different than any other campers we have met over the years, their rigs were just a whole lot nicer. Florida has many of these destination resorts which cater to high end snowbirders, and most of the lots are privately owned. This place had some re-sales in the $50000 to $70000 price range with quarterly assesments of $500.00.
NO we are not buying one but just thought you might find it interesting. Would we go back? The price was $70.00 per night with a 10% Good Sam discount down to $63.00. Thats not much more than anywhere in Florida durring the winter! DACOTAH

This would be my guess: Apple Valley Farm

We happened on it when touring the area near where we bought our new rig. Coincidently, we met some owners, they happened to be renting a couple spaces where we own property in South Carolina: South Carolina RV Sites : Luxury Class A Motorcoach RV Resort : RV Lots For Sale : RV Rental Lots : Waterfront : Lakeside South Eastern United States

They both were driving Prevosts.

Thanks, Jay. I had wondered because a month or so ago, I had gotten a mailer from some newly opened RV resort in NC (not an OR) selling lots & offering 4 day/3 night free stay for taking a tour. That's what I get for signing up for stuff at a Rally. Anyway, I don't remember the name now but I know it wasn't Apple Valley. It would of been hilarious if it had, seeing as we have a gas coach!

Hey, just slap a Cummins sticker on the side. I'd bet that would get you past the gate.

A Cummings sticker and loosen your valve stems a little, who would know.

Seriously it is a matter of where you draw the line. For instance many parks will not accommodate tent campers and so many of those tent campers feel discriminated against and rightfully so, but it is the choice of the guy who put out the money to build the place.

Some restaurants require a tie for a man to be seated other restaurants cut your tie off if you come in with one. Go figure.

Gripper,

Thart's Ok let the diesels stay in their exclusive campground that way they won't wake us gassers up early in the AM when they start their engines and let them idle forever.

Now we have to get an exclusive campground just for gassers and boy would that ne a quiet place in the morning.
