Please keep in mind that I'm not very good at the computer. I"m asking if there is a software tacker to keep all my information in. Like miles ,service, and a way that I can give family a way to track my trips. They are worried about me traveling alone (I'm not) so if anyone knows of anything please post to ease my children,

You could look at Pro Tracker. It is a GPS with a cell connection. It will track your vehicle and it can be traced on the web to show location. You can set the time interval you want reported from minutes to hours to days. This is their web site.
ProTrackGPS : :. There are other companies, and the iphone has a tracking feature.

To keep track of all my information I use RV Notebook. You can track expenses, services, campgrounds visited etc. Click on the link below and have a look.

For keeping track of maintenance one of our members (Wayne06) published with an on-line "Motorhome ToDo list". It is free and works very well for many of us. The link to the thread is here. Note the link in his first post is wrong, the correct link to the website is here.

Another excellent one is "Rolling Stock", written by an RVer, for RVers. Keep track of all vehicle data as well as campgrounds and other stops.

My Verizon Android phone has an app that allows my phone to be tracked by someone you give permission to using Google Maps. The app is called Lattitude.

Just saw in a different blog a software called "Nomads Notes"..... they display quite a few "pages" on their website to look at and the price is a one time buy... worth considering also??

You could even use the http://www.findmespot.com satellite tracker as it posts online "bread crumbs" through its own Google Maps interface of where you are. You could even send a message to the kids that says "everything AOK" whenever you want. Best of all it is satellite (not cell) so you can use it ANYWHERE even on hikes, and in the remotest location. If something goes really bad, it has a 911 emergency capability. They also offer a roadside assistance feature now.
The device is ~$100 and the service is ~$100/YEAR.

I cannot remember the name but there is now a hand held device that is also an emergency beacon. You kids can log on to a web site and it tells them where you are. I have seen it advertised in Motor home magazine. The problem with a cell phone based device is that it won't work where cell phones don't. There is also an emergency button on it in case of trouble. Just google rv emergency satellite device and I am sure it will come up.
