As mentioned, this works OK if everything goes the way it's supposed to. I get nervous with that, as I've had to deal with the consequences when it doesn't work as it should.

This leaves you dealing with a state office (FL in this example) that could be several hundred miles from you (that potentially has a LOT of your hard earned money!), trying to figure out if they've dropped the ball somehow, or if your home state office doesn't have the issue? This can be a huge mess, and straightening it out can take you over the time limit of your temporary plate - rendering your motor home useless until the issue is settled and you have your new plate in hand!

Handle it any way you like. Just a heads up....

My nephew did this last year with a Pop-Up. Bought in FL, towed to Ohio for reg/title. He paid the estimated tax for OH at the FL DMV. Paid for a temp tag - $14, and drove it back. On the OH side he paid another $6 in tax due to county he lived in, and paid their title fees.

Be sure to use the Florida Bill of Sale form HSMV 82050.
FL. doesn't care if they are no insurance on a Pop Up. Not required as tow vehicle covers it for liability.

But will require prof of insurance on a MH before a temp tag will be issued.
