As mentioned, this works OK if everything goes the way it's supposed to. I get nervous with that, as I've had to deal with the consequences when it doesn't work as it should.
This leaves you dealing with a state office (FL in this example) that could be several hundred miles from you (that potentially has a LOT of your hard earned money!), trying to figure out if they've dropped the ball somehow, or if your home state office doesn't have the issue? This can be a huge mess, and straightening it out can take you over the time limit of your temporary plate - rendering your motor home useless until the issue is settled and you have your new plate in hand!
Handle it any way you like. Just a heads up....
