screen door latch

Our last motorhome, (32' Itasca Sunrise) had a screen door that was latched by a spring loaded roller. So, it could be pushed and pulled to open/ close.
Our new Tiffin has the newer style pivot latch that requires the plastic slide in the middle of the door to be moved to reach through from the inside to unlatch. What a nusiance when trying to go outside with your hands full with lunch, drinks, whatever.

Has anyone got a solution for this?

Thanks,
Jim

some people have installed that "magic screen" that you see on tv. It closes with magnets and you can go in and out of it without having to use your hands.

I suppose you could use magnets. You'll have to do some trial and error testing though. You would want the magnets strong enough to keep the screen closed but not so strong so that the screen door would not follow the main entrance door when it is opened.
BTW, yes it is somewhat of a pain. I'll have to think about this for out coach.

I'm not looking for something that is cobbled. I'm wondering if there is any replacement gadget or someone has found a creative solution.

Send a message via ICQ to Fred and Bonnie
I installed this item: Camco Screen Door Opener - Screen Door Accessories - Screen Door - Entry Door - Hardware works for us.

Now we're talking. That's just what I'm looking for. Order placed.

Thanks a bunch,
Jim
