I saw screen door mod that got me thinking and I made my version so I don't have to open the slider on the screen door to get out. I used a piece of coat hanger to build the prototype, transferred that to a piece of 1/8" brass rod, drilled 2 holes, created a slot and added a knob. Presto a screen door latch opener fo $2.

Removed all but one photo to save bandwith. All my mods are on my Yahoo Photo Site (link in my signature).

Looks like it should do the trick! For the price, I'm sure it would be difficult to beat, thanks for sharing.

Now that I got the latch made I figure I needed a inside door handle. So, I bend a piece of 1/8" metal rod, brazed on a couple of fender washers, made a handle from a piece scrap wood, spray painted the rod/washers, routed a slot in the handle for the rod to fit, stained the wood, epoxied the handle to the rod, sealed the stained wood polyurethane and mounted on the door. Total price maybe $1.

[/IMG] Screen door latch spring broke. Black handle that you push down to unlatch. Simple inexpensive fix using rubber band. Email justroaming@ispwest for pictures if posting did not work.
