Securing bikes on ladder carrier
Hi!
I tried almost all afternoon to mount and secure 2 bikes on an older bike carrier that fits over a ladder. It seemed to work fine on our older 5th wheel but it seems sloppy on the rear ladder of our 2011 Allegro. Any suggestions?

i bought a ladder mount bike rack from harbor freight. it was so unstable that i returned it. 
i bought a bargman bike rack that fits into the hitch receiver from camping world. this mount is rock solid, very stable.  i use a double hitch adapter.

We just purchased the one that Camping World sells for two bikes. The bikes mount "up & down". Very stable and inexpensive...

not a fan of the ladder hangers. Especially when your ladder is held on by rivets and very pliable aluminum.

Same here, I carry the bikes on a carrier between the Toad and back of the MH, on the hitch.

Those ladders are not that weak, most bicycles weigh less than 30 lbs. If the ladder can hold a human, it can hold a couple of bikes.

This is my thoughts as well. My ladder is riveted into fiberglass, as far as the ladder holding a person, I'm not on the ladder at 65mph. The bikes are, I store two folding bikes in the basement nice and clean.

Wow! You mean you don't ride out on the ladder at 65 mph, how about 60 or 55? I am not a fan of the ladder rack either, I have a receiver mounted bike rack. The ladder mounted racks only hold two bikes, and I was being generous with the 30 lb bikes, unless yours is an old, heavy, steel bike with fat tires and huge seat. My two road bikes don't weigh but 18 or so a piece, plenty strong enough for that. Has anyone heard of ladder mount bike racks ripping ladders right off the back of their RV's?

Our Monaco has a placard limiting the ladder to 300 lbs. IN MOTION.
